However, there were some downs of summer school, One of them being the fact that it is during 3 weeks of scorching summer days; and the fact we can be playing and swimming:(. And it was also hard to cram all of a years academic work within a 3 week span. Everyday we have to write a blog about anything, or anything specific that the teacher gives you. This gets annoying because while that is happening we get essays and assignments to do; which Mr.Kemp expects brilliance from. Sometimes when we are in class he tells us to make in essay outline with our groups in 30 mins; which is kind of hard to do on such short notice.

Overall, I learned how to make essays, more on the thesis than the other parts, and how to cite and refer back to evidence if used. I also learned how to write a blog, and how to express yourself with the issues or hobbies you write about. And I learned that English is all about expressing yourself in different ways, and how you present your ideas to the audience. As well, I learned how to manage my time wisely and more productively, how to cooperate with others, and experience the fun of Mr.Kemp’s teaching of English. Even though English had to be taught during the summer, you learned it faster and  way easier than in normal academic school, and experience more fun with others.

As consumers we can contribute in making a small change to the old habits of product disposal. Recycle, reuse and dispose those materials properly. This is just a small difference but if we do it by millions this will create a huge impact to the environment.

As you can see diamonds aren’t like gold or silver; you do not just buy them, you observe them. This is how I get my women;).

The Lamborghini Reventon. One of the greatest Lamborghini’s ever built. It was assembled in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. It is a 2 door coupe and costs a whole 850, 000 euros, and if converted into US dollars, it is 1.25 million dollars! It was made in 2009 and was first introduced in the Frankfurt Motor Show. There is only 20 released in the public because of how much it costs to make. All of the exterior views, were from the Lamborghini LP640 which is a  faster version of the Murcielago. The exterior was also produced from the looks of fighter jets. Speaking of jets, the Reventon raced one and lost by only a few seconds! It is a 6.5 L, V-12 engine consisting of 640hp. It can reach a maximum speed of 356 km/h. The G- Force Meter in the interior is why the Reventon is such a big shot. It gives you the dynamic longitudinal drive forces of longitudinal acceleration. While accelerating and braking, and transverse acceleration bends. It is shown on a grid in front of the steering wheel, depending on the acceleration intensity. The F1 cars also use this technology! The exterior of the Reventon is made of carbon fiber, which makes it really agile. There is 7 LED’s in the headlamp, while normal cars usually have 4 or 5. If you would want to buy this car, it would cost 5 million dollars because of the shipping and registration needed.

• Blanking; when the volume is muted for all or part of the word.
• Bleeping; playing a noise, usually a “beep”, over all or part of the word.
• Resampling; using a like-sounding portion of vocals and music to override the offending word.
• Resinging; removing the word or part of the word and keeping the instrumental part of the song.
• Backmasking; taking the offending word and reversing the audio, sometimes the whole audio is reversed (often to simulate a ‘backspin’ sound), but more usually only the vocal track is reversed.
• Repeating; repeating the word just said before the explicit word was used.
• Skipping; deleting the word from the song without a time delay.
• Echo; instead of saying a word, it echoes the last word(s) said in the line.
• Disc scratching; in hip hop, scratching on the word, making it sound like another word, or make the word said faster or slower.
• RoboVoicing; making the word totally non-understandable by overpowering a robovoice effect (usually used as a last resort for home-made jobs).
• Distorting; Usually in Hip-Hop, less offensive words such as “shit” or else is distorted. It is usually done by shifting down the pitch.

These are a few ways of how music artists themselves censor their profanity used in their songs. The most common censorships are: bleeping (radio, television), and distorting (music videos). For some people censoring is a good thing to get used to because it allows the teenagers listening to the music not to think of swearing. This also allows the teenagers perhaps adults, to not use swearing or profanity in their everyday life. Many people have role models that sing. So, if they hear their role model swear or use inappropriate words, they would also use it thinking it’s “cool”. For others censoring is a bad thing because it does not allow the singers to express their feelings of what they are singing about. This restricts their ability to say what they are really truly thinking.

This issue has to be raised because more than half of the world listen to all sorts of music, and get frustrated if their music is censored or not.

So let’s switch it up a bit here. Let’s talk about music in a different sense. Many believe and claim that music is a form of freedom as i said above. But what does that really mean? Could it be that many see music as an escape? As an alternate world where anything is possible? Yes. Music can paint you a picture, but all you need to do is pick the colours.

Alright so i told you what music means to me, and also gave you a sense of what it could possibly mean to others, but now, I’m going to tell you what i like to listen to. — Artists like Nas, Immortal Technique and Lupe Fiasco are only a handful of the rappers i enjoy. Why? Three reasons.

One: the tempo and beat to numerous of their songs seems to be catchy and entertaining.

Two: their lyrics and song topics are relevant, relatable to and unique.

Three: to sum it up in one word, these rappers are just amazing.

I’d like to think that what I’ve told you is everything you’ll need to know about music, but it’s not. It’s like someone trying to tell you to sum up the entire world in one paragraph. You wouldn’t be able to right? No matter how hard you try, there will be something you leave out. Music’s the same. But what I have told you is what music means to me.
